What began in 2014 as Gold Coast Germans has since transformed into a vibrant and welcoming community. Originally a small gathering space for German-speaking expats, our group quickly evolved into Gold Coast Stammtisch, offering a platform where members could meet, socialise, and celebrate their culture. Over the years, this initiative has flourished into what is now known as Stein Sunsets, a proud part of the German community Gold Coast, a dynamic and inclusive hub for those who share a love for German traditions, good beer, and lively conversations.
The German community Gold Coast is more than just a social group—it is a place where friendships are forged, memories are created, and a sense of belonging thrives. As we expanded, we warmly welcomed non-German partners, friends, and international expats who wished to immerse themselves in our rich cultural heritage. Today, our events are open to not only German-speaking expats from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland but also to Aussies and other expats who appreciate a friendly and engaging social atmosphere.
Our founder, Matthias Hollstein, originally from Thüringen, Germany, has called Australia home since 2008. His vision of creating a strong and inclusive German community Gold Coast has helped foster meaningful connections between locals and expats alike. Whether through traditional German festivities, casual meetups, or larger community events, we continue to uphold the values of camaraderie, diversity, and cultural exchange. Stein Sunsets plays a central role in fostering these connections, bringing together individuals from different backgrounds to celebrate and share in German traditions.
As we mark our 11th anniversary, the German community Gold Coast looks forward to an exciting year ahead.
